EV Charging Cost Calculator

Calculate exactly how much it costs to charge your electric vehicle at home based on your local electricity rates.

Check your latest utility bill for your exact rate.

Total Charging Cost

$5.40

Adding 36.0 kWh of energy to your battery.

How this calculation works

The formula to determine your home EV charging cost is:

(Battery Capacity × Charge Percentage) × Electricity Rate = Total Cost

For example, charging a 60kWh battery from 20% to 80% requires 36.0kWh of energy. At a local utility rate of $0.15 per kWh, the total cost comes out to$5.40. Note that this calculation represents the pure mathematical energy transfer; real-world costs may be ~10% higher due to normal energy loss during the AC-to-DC conversion process.
