This policy explains what happens to information when you use the Energy & DIY Tools Hub at ev-charging-cost.pages.dev (“the site”). It is written to be read rather than skimmed past, and it is short because the site does very little with your data.
The short version
We do not ask who you are, and we have no accounts, no sign-ups and no contact forms. Everything you type into a calculator is processed inside your own browser and is never transmitted to us. The one place third parties are involved is advertising: Google AdSense serves the ads that keep the site free, and it uses cookies to do so. Those cookies are described in full below, along with how to switch personalised advertising off.
Calculator inputs stay on your device
Every tool on this site runs as JavaScript on the page you are already looking at. When you enter an electricity rate, a monthly bill, a system cost or a battery size, that value is held in your browser's memory, used for the calculation, and gone as soon as you close or reload the tab.
This is not simply a policy commitment — it is a property of how the site is built. The site is a static export: there is no application server, no database and no API endpoint behind these pages, so there is no destination your figures could be sent to. We do not receive them, we cannot log them, and we could not produce them if we were asked to.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical details inherent in delivering a page to you — your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, and your browser's user-agent string — and retains them briefly for security, abuse prevention and network reliability. This processing is carried out by Cloudflare as our hosting provider under its own privacy terms; we do not build profiles from it, and we do not have an interface that lets us look up an individual visitor.
Google AdSense and cookies
This site is monetised using Google AdSense. The following disclosures apply to that advertising:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
- Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info.
Declining — or simply not answering — means this site asks Google for non-personalised ads, which are targeted using only general context such as the content of the page and your approximate location, rather than your browsing history. Personalised ads are requested only after you press Accept, and a change of choice takes full effect from your next page load. Note that non-personalised ads still use a limited amount of storage for purposes such as frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention. Your choices and rights
You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which removes the stored consent preference and brings the notice back on your next visit. Most browsers also let you block or delete third-party cookies outright, and the tools on this site are fully functional with all cookies blocked and even with JavaScript storage disabled.
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or erase on request. If you are in the EEA, the UK, California or another region with statutory data rights and you want to exercise them in relation to the advertising described above, those requests need to go to Google as the party that holds the data; we are glad to point you in the right direction if you get in touch.
Children’s privacy
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and since we collect no personal information from anyone, none is collected from children either.
Changes to this policy
If the site's handling of data changes — for instance if an analytics tool is ever added — this policy will be updated before that change goes live, and the “last updated” date at the top of the page will change with it.
